Books to Increase Our Knowledge

Of the five fundamental books that make up the Codification of Spiritism, this was the first, bringing together the teachings of Higher Spirits through mediums from various parts of the world. It marks the beginning of a Doctrine that has had a profound impact on the thinking and outlook on life of a considerable portion of humanity since 1857, the date of the first French edition. Structured in four parts and containing 1,019 questions formulated by the Codifier, it addresses Spiritist teachings logically and rationally, from scientific, philosophical, and religious perspectives. Regardless of religious belief or conviction, reading "The Spirits' Book" will be of immense value to everyone, because it addresses God, the immortality of the soul, the nature of Spirits, their relationships with humankind, moral laws, the present life, the future life, and the future of humanity—subjects of general interest and highly relevant today.

This work deals with spirit manifestations and mediums, and therefore with the phenomenal aspect of Spiritism, characterizing it as a science of observation that examines the relationships between the corporeal world and the invisible or spiritual world. It is an indispensable manual for all those who wish to participate in mediumistic activities, or simply want to understand the nature and mechanisms of mediumship. At the end of this work, there is an Analytical Index of Subjects, bringing together, in alphabetical order, all the entries that may be of interest to scholars. When writing his books, Allan Kardec wrote for the people, in simple language, and, as this is a literal translation, the original simple language was preserved. Furthermore, and most importantly, the translator respected the integrity of the book, which should be considered sacred, and added neither his personal opinion nor footnotes that were not in the original.

Based on instructions from Higher Spirits, always recorded at the end of the chapters, Kardec explains Jesus' moral maxims, inviting us to live them in our daily lives. Explaining them clearly and simply to reason and the heart, it is the bedside book of thousands upon thousands of people. Its introduction defines the objective of this work: to address exclusively the moral teachings of the Gospel, for this divine code "is, above all, the infallible path to the expected happiness."

Its main purpose is to explain God's Justice in light of the Spiritist Doctrine. It aims to demonstrate the immortality of the Spirit and the condition it will enjoy in the spiritual world as a consequence of its own actions. It is divided into two parts: The first establishes a comparative examination of religious doctrines regarding life after death. It highlights facts such as the death of children, beings born with deformities, collective accidents, and a range of problems that only the immortality of the soul and reincarnation can satisfactorily explain. Kardec seeks to elucidate topics such as angels, heaven, demons, hell, eternal punishment, purgatory, fear of death, the Mosaic prohibition on evoking the dead, etc. He also presents the Spiritist explanation that contradicts the doctrine of eternal punishment. The second part, resulting from practical work, gathers examples of the soul's condition during and after disembodiment. They are testimonies of repentant criminals, hardened Spirits, happy Spirits, average Spirits, suffering Spirits, suicidal Spirits and Spirits in earthly atonement.

The creation of humanity (both corporeal and spiritual) and the material world has been, since antiquity, a vibrant and controversial topic. In this work, Kardec shows us that the Spiritist Revelation sheds intense light on this important question. Two other interesting topics are also analyzed: miracles and prophecies—in their broadest sense, and particularly in the Gospel—making them comprehensible and natural to our understanding. In the final chapter, "The Times Are Come," the Codifier alerts us to the difficult period of transition we are currently experiencing, conveying great hope and faith. At the end of this work, there is an Analytical Index of Subjects, bringing together, in alphabetical order, all the entries that may be of interest to scholars.

The book presents an in-depth study of the use of mentopsychic energies, associated with mediumship, to constitute a valuable adjunct therapy in the treatment of illnesses and obsessive processes. Numerous case studies allow the reader to understand complex health problems and their treatment through innovative and effective therapy. Without postulating the status of a new science, spiritualist, or philosophical doctrine, Apometry has much of all of them, constituting a valuable working tool for those in Spiritist centers or Umbanda houses who dedicate themselves to serving others with love and for love.

This book aims to assist psychic workers by recounting experiences with inhabitants of the spatial dimension, neighboring the physical world in which we live—the extraphysical dimension, where beings who have left their physical bodies reside. Apometry, a technique developed by Dr. José Lacerda de Azevedo, revolutionized psychic-mediumistic possibilities, opening new horizons in psychic research. The book portrays aspects of this new reality, made tangible by Apometry.

Apometry is not a panacea. It is merely a magnetic technique for approaching the human soul. This work proposes to analyze the subject from a Spiritist perspective, seeking to incorporate into the Doctrine's experimental collection what proves ethical and in perfect harmony with the guidelines suggested by Allan Kardec. It also emphasizes the importance of the combination of thought, magnetism, mediumship, and the assistance of mentors, all placed at the service of the common good, free of charge, in a essentially Spiritist environment.

"Apometry is still a very new possibility, and to understand it, it is necessary to practice it with awareness of what you are doing, with patience, and above all, with our being grounded in the Gospel." The book addresses topics such as spiritual disturbances, spiritual induction and obsession, pseudo-obsession, symbiosis, parasitism, vampirism, and others.

Apometry is a therapeutic technique provided by the Spiritual Plane for fraternal care. It respects and coexists in perfect harmony with all religions that are guided by the practice of goodness and fraternal love. Author Norberto Peixoto's experience as a medium, priest, and leader of apometric disobsession work gave rise to this indispensable work for all spiritual workers and researchers. Besides being enlightening, this work is a practical work guide that can be applied to any group, as long as it is universalist and open to the mediumistic manifestations of the Aruanda Phalangers. It clarifies the invocation of the Orixás' lines in the dynamics of the services and other intriguing themes from the Umbanda Universe. The author's didactic approach and simple language make it accessible and easy to understand.

Apometry has established itself as one of the most effective healing techniques ever transmitted to Earth from the Spiritual Realm. Since its creation several decades ago by Porto Alegre physician José Lacerda de Azevedo, it has excelled in treating the most rebellious and intricate pathologies of the soul—including complex cases of Shadow magic that defy classic approaches to spiritual healing. It deepens the understanding of the phenomenon, dispels misinterpretations, uses spiritual logic to assess the ethical aspects of its practice, and clarifies the how and why of Apometry's partnership with Umbanda—which was born with it. The authors are mostly physicians or writers—or both—and leaders of Apometry groups, all experienced spiritual workers, including two former presidents of the Brazilian Society of Apometry (SBA). Her diverse experience allows her to enrich the approach to the universe of Apometry with knowledge from related fields—Umbanda, Psychiatry, Past Life Therapy, Esotericism, Medicine, Homeopathy, and Floral Remedies; and, together with her experience in universalist, spiritualist, and Umbanda mediumistic groups, sheds enlightening light on the intricacies of Apometry theory and practice that are little understood or ignored.

Ramatís is a spokesperson for the ancient knowledge of the so-called Secret Wisdom, which the Planetary Leaders wish to gradually return to humanity's consciousness, in a grand project involving all spiritualist movements. In 'Christian Flame,' he establishes the connection between this Hidden Wisdom and its original sources: the Divine Higher Law—Aumbandhan, or Integral Knowledge—brought from other sidereal worlds and present on the planet since the most ancient races. He reveals particularities of these exiles from other constellations and their trajectory on the planet after their arrival in Atlantis. To this end, he revives his status as an ancient Atlantean Master, demonstrating the subtle techniques with which this Divine Magic of the Temples of Light continues to operate on the Astral Plane, alongside incarnate mediums, in the rescue of those who suffer and the leaders of darkness. From the arcana of this Secret Science, he conveys notions of Cosmic Physics, sidereal chakras and black holes, dimensional fields, and the planetary axis. He details the magic of healing magnetism, ectoplasmic grafts, astral phytotherapy, the Four Elements, and ancient Ayurvedic medicine from India. Among multiple teachings and revelations, he emphasizes Universalism, the basis of the new planetary consciousness: "Spirituality is universalist, Christ-like, and there is no sectarianism, sects, or religions, dogmas, or exclusivist rituals on this side."

In this work, Ramatís brings a new spectrum of knowledge to broaden our penetration into the infinite universe of "occult" phenomena.
With his characteristic universalist tone, Ramatís now strives to elucidate little-understood realities known as orishas, seven vibratory lines, offerings, magic in nature, elementals, magical agents, and others. He situates these realities within the initiatory context, correlating them with the vibratory regency of the stars and the Great Cosmic Principles they represent. Umbanda and Apometry are analyzed with the peculiar objectivity and depth of thought of this ancient Atlantean master.
Recalling that "most of the great technological and scientific advances seen in history occurred due to the influence of extraterrestrial cultures", he points out the genetic intervention of these cultures in the formation of terrestrial races; and analyzes, from a spiritual perspective, the scientific processes of human cloning.
A valuable contribution for Umbanda practitioners and spiritual scholars is the participation of the extraterrestrial entity who adopts the persona of Grandma Maria Conga. With the same clarity of style as Ramatís, she clarifies some of the most controversial facets of this ancient cult—Umbanda.
This work is part of the great forgotten book of Cosmic Wisdom, which humanity is beginning to rediscover to compose the Integral Knowledge of the New Age.
Trilogy: A Study Guide to Umbanda , Norberto Peixoto guided by the spirit Ramatís is made up of 3 volumes: Umbanda Pé no Chão; Mediumistic Diary and Mediumship and Priesthood.
Volume 1:
It clarifies topics related to the orixás (cosmic energies), exus (element that displaces cosmic fluid between the planes) and their action as agents of karmic readjustments, the forms of presentation of spirits, the purpose of amacis and herbs, florals and their affinities with the orixás, magic as a movement of energy aimed at charity, in addition to precious details about mediumistic development.
Volume 2:
It offers important insights into the day-to-day work of an Umbanda mediumistic group, drawing parallels between events in the different planes of life. Using simple, objective language, this book analyzes the psychic traumas caused by spiritual abuse, the subtle processes of obsession among mediums and harassment of spiritualist centers, the initiations, and the elements used in the work, extolling the true foundations of Umbanda, which are grounded in respect for animal life.
Volume 3:
It concludes the trilogy by addressing relevant issues regarding mediumship in the Umbanda field. The characteristics of the spiritual guides who work on the other side, providing cover for mediumistic work, are narrated in intriguing detail, clearly explaining the "specialty" or sphere of action of each phalanx. It presents a research paper in the field of Anthropology of Religion, leading the reader to reflect on the reasons why Umbanda, a typically Brazilian mediumistic religion of spiritual inclusion and focused on the practice of charity, is losing ground in the popular imagination to neo-Pentecostal evangelicals, as indicated by the latest census.
